Their story
Bodegas Care is a family-owned winery in the village of Cariñena, in Aragón in northeastern Spain. The family had grown grapes for years before building its own winery in 2000, and the wines are released by the company Bodegas Añadas. Nacho Lázaro leads the business as CEO.
Cariñena is one of Spain's oldest wine regions and a stronghold for Grenache. Care set out to show a more contemporary side of the grape and the region.
How it's made
Care selects vineyards for fruit quality and focuses on Grenache, alongside Tempranillo, Cariñena, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery was built with modern equipment for fermentation and aging, with an approach meant to respect the vineyard and the grape.

Why we carry them
We like Care for showing how good Spanish Grenache can be at an everyday price. These are friendly, fruit-forward reds that work with almost anything off the grill.
