Their story

Cadbury began in 1824, when John Cadbury, a Quaker, opened a shop in Birmingham, England selling tea, coffee, and drinking chocolate. His sons Richard and George took over in 1861 and turned around a struggling business.

In 1879 the brothers opened a factory at Bournville outside the city, and George went on to build a model village there for workers. Dairy Milk, made with more milk than earlier bars, followed in 1905.

Kraft Foods acquired Cadbury in 2010, and the brand is now owned by Mondelez International.

How it's made

Cadbury chocolate is made from cocoa, sugar, and a generous share of milk, which gives Dairy Milk its creamy texture. Bournville in Birmingham remains the brand's historic home.

Why we carry them

Cadbury is pure nostalgia for a lot of our customers. We keep the British favorites on hand for anyone who misses the taste of home.
