Their story

Debbie Wei Mullin grew up in a Vietnamese household in California, where her mother introduced her to the food, culture and strong, sweet coffee of Vietnam. She started Copper Cow Coffee in 2017 to bring that style of coffee to American kitchens, not just specialty cafes.

Her first plan was a bottled cold brew with condensed milk mixed in, but the logistics did not work. A trip to Asia pointed her toward pour-over bags instead, and she launched with about $100,000 raised from friends and family. The line has since grown to include flavored coffees, latte kits and chai.

How it's made

Copper Cow buys its coffee from partners in Vietnam and packs it into single-use pour-over filters that hang over a mug. Each kit comes with a sachet of sweetened condensed milk creamer. The company says it has helped its growers cut chemical use by using natural fertilizers such as coffee cherries.

Why we carry them

We think this is the easiest way to make a proper Vietnamese coffee at home or at the office. Brew it over ice on a hot day.
