Their story
Meg Ray, a lifelong baker, opened Miette in San Francisco in 2001. She wanted to make the kind of beautiful, delicious pastries she had found on her trips to Europe, and Paris in particular shaped the shop's style.
Miette has a shop in the Ferry Building Marketplace and has grown to other Bay Area locations. Ray's recipes are also collected in the Miette cookbook, published in 2011.
How it's made
Many of Miette's ingredients are organic, and most come from local producers. The bakers make cakes, cookies and pastries such as macarons, eclairs, gingerbread cupcakes and lavender shortbread.
Why we carry them
Miette is a San Francisco sweet spot we are happy to share. Their shortbread and sables are easy gifts that always look the part.
