Their story

Morris Kitchen is a brother-and-sister business from Brooklyn. Tyler Morris is a chef, and his sister Kari, who trained as a painter, took charge of making the syrups. The idea came to Kari while she was staying with friends in the south of France.

The first batch was sold at a local greenmarket. Kari went on to make the syrups full time in a kitchen in Williamsburg, and the amber apothecary bottles with letterpress labels became the brand's calling card.

How it's made

The syrups start from a short list of whole ingredients such as fresh ginger, apples and lemon. They are juiced, strained, boiled and skimmed in small batches of a few hundred bottles at a time, then bottled and labeled by hand.

Why we carry them

We reach for Morris Kitchen when we want real ginger bite in a mule or a quick homemade soda. A splash with sparkling water is a great non-alcoholic option too.
