Their story
Pachamama Coffee is owned by the people who grow it. Five farmer cooperatives in Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru, together representing roughly 140,000 smallholder farmers, supply the beans and govern the company.
The business is based in Sacramento, California, where co-founder and CEO Thaleon Tremain helped build a roastery and coffee bars, including a large Midtown cafe that opened next to the roastery in 2018.
How it's made
Green coffee comes straight from the member cooperatives, so farmers share in the value of the roasted coffee rather than selling only raw beans. The coffee is roasted in Sacramento, and the organic Ethiopian coffees have won Good Food Awards.
Our featured pick
Classic Espresso Coffee Beans (10OZ)
$23.00
Savor a full roast espresso with notes of plum and chocolate. This organic espresso bean blend is curated from the best espresso beans found in Ethiopia, Perú, and México.
Why we carry them
We like Pachamama because the farmers own the company. It is a simple way to make the morning cup count for more.
