Their story

Portland Bitters Project belongs to Genevieve and Dan Brazelton, a married couple in Portland, Oregon. They started in 2012 in their home kitchen, making bitters in small batches for friends and for their own cocktails.

They have since moved into a commercial kitchen, but the work still looks a lot like it did at the start. Each bottle is handled by hand, and the lineup ranges from cardamom and lime coriander to a house aromatic blend in the Angostura style.

How it's made

The Brazeltons build their bitters from whole ingredients, peeling fresh oranges for the orange bitters, for example. Their aromatic blend leans on dried cherries, ginger and baking spices, and batches stay small.

We use all real ingredients.

Why we carry them

We like these for home bartenders who want something beyond the usual aromatic bottle. A few dashes of the cardamom in an old fashioned is a good place to start.
