Their story

Republic of Vermont is run by Ethan West and his partner Annina in Goshen, a small town in the Green Mountains. Their kids, Lelia and Linus, pitch in during the season.

The family has been making organic maple syrup and raw honey since 2015, and their honey has won a Good Food Award. Most of what they make leaves the state, sold directly to customers and to small shops across the country.

How it's made

The syrup comes from roughly 7,000 taps around Goshen, several thousand of them on the family's own land, and all sugaring happens on site. The honey is gathered from hives at about a dozen spots around Vermont and left unheated, which keeps it thick and floral.

We make organic maple syrup and raw honey. All the sugaring is done right here in Goshen

Why we carry them

This is the real thing from a family who taps the trees themselves. Try the raw honey too, it is unusually thick and fragrant.
