Their story
Slate was started in Boston in 2018 by Manny Lubin and Josh Belinsky, who met at Northeastern University. They wanted to rethink chocolate milk for grown-ups.
After a Kickstarter campaign, they launched their first canned chocolate milks in 2019 and have since grown into grocery stores around the country.
How it's made
Slate starts with milk from family-owned dairy farms in upstate New York. The milk is ultra-filtered to concentrate protein and remove lactose, then lightly sweetened with cane sugar and monk fruit and sealed in shelf-stable cans.
We wanted to give chocolate milk a clean slate.
Why we carry them
We like Slate as a grab-and-go treat that also fills you up. The espresso flavor makes a good afternoon pick-me-up.
