Their story
Steven Smith spent decades shaping American tea. He co-founded Stash Tea in 1972 and later launched Tazo, which Starbucks bought in 1999.
In 2009 he and his wife, Kim DeMent Smith, started Steven Smith Teamaker in Portland, Oregon, to focus on the full-leaf teas and blends he loved most.
Smith died in 2015, and Kim DeMent Smith has led the company since, now known as Smith Teamaker.
How it's made
The range covers full-leaf black, green, and white teas along with herbal infusions, sold loose and in sachets. The team blends in Portland and also makes ready-to-drink beverages.
Why we carry them
Smith's sachets make it easy to brew a good cup without measuring loose leaf. We like having a few blends around for slow mornings.
