Three of Strong Spirits is a rum-focused producer based in Portland, Maine, founded in 2019.
The company works only in rum, pairing its own pot-distilled spirit made in Maine with aged rum brought in from Colombia. Everything is bottled without additives.
Its lineup includes Brightwater, an unaged rum; Parchando 12, a 12-year Colombian rum; and Stone Pier, a blend of the two styles.
How it's made
Brightwater is pot-distilled from cane sugar and food-grade molasses and bottled unaged. Parchando 12 is a column-distilled molasses rum from Colombia aged 12 years in used bourbon barrels, and Stone Pier blends Brightwater with a five-year rum from the same Colombian source. All are bottled at 80 proof with nothing added.
Why we carry them
We like that Three of Strong keeps its rums free of added sugar, and Stone Pier is a good all-purpose bottle for daiquiris.
