Their story
Wunderground is the second act for Jody Hall, the Seattle entrepreneur who founded Cupcake Royale. She launched the coffee brand in 2021, starting with a pop-up at Chophouse Row.
That fall she opened a flagship cafe on Capitol Hill in the space that once held Cupcake Royale, with a food menu developed by chef Maria Hines. The brand has since partnered with Salt & Straw and PCC Community Markets, which carries its organic coffee and mushroom blends.
How it's made
Wunderground pairs organic coffee with adaptogenic mushrooms, which are not psychedelic. Café drinks like a mushroom vanilla latte and a dark chocolate mushroom mocha led to packaged blends for brewing at home.
