Their story
Assouline began in 1994 as a family business run by Prosper and Martine Assouline from the basement of their Paris apartment. A year later they opened their first office, and their early Memoire series of small books on fashion and design names helped put them on the map.
The couple moved to New York in 2007, and the company is now based on Park Avenue. Its catalog has grown to well over a thousand titles on travel, fashion, art, design and gastronomy, sold through its own boutiques in places like Paris, New York and London.
How it's made
Assouline focuses on illustrated, coffee-table style books with strong photography and high production values. Beyond the travel series and classics, it offers hand-bound limited editions and designs custom libraries for homes and hotels.
