Their story
Morgan Twain-Peterson started Bedrock Wine Co. in 2007 in a converted chicken coop in a friend's backyard, making wine with outdoor fermenters and a small basket press. After six years on his own, he was joined by Chris Cottrell as a partner, and the winery moved on to a borrowed winery and then a warehouse of its own.
Bedrock's work centers on old California vineyards planted in the late 1800s and early 1900s by the state's early growers. Many are mixed plantings of Zinfandel, Mataro, Carignan, Petite Sirah, and other grapes, and the team works to keep them farmed and in the ground.
How it's made
Bedrock sources from carefully farmed old vineyards in Sonoma, Napa, Mendocino, Amador, Lodi, and Contra Costa. Many wines are made as field blends, with the varieties picked and fermented together, and the range also includes rosé, barrel-fermented whites, and Syrah.

Why we carry them
We think Bedrock is one of the best ways to taste California wine history in a glass. Their old-vine field blends are great with grilled meats.
