Their story
Better Oats is an oatmeal brand from MOM Brands, the Minnesota cereal company that began in 1919 when miller John S. Campbell started making Malt-O-Meal hot cereal in Owatonna. The company later moved production to Northfield and kept its offices in Lakeville.
Better Oats launched in 2010 and later added steel cut varieties. In 2015 Post Holdings bought MOM Brands, and Better Oats is now part of Post's cereal business.
How it's made
Better Oats are made from 100 percent whole grain oats, and some lines add flaxseed. The steel cut varieties cook in the microwave in a few minutes, and many packets have a built-in measuring line on the pouch.
