Bittermilk
Bar-quality cocktail mixers from the couple behind Charleston's Gin Joint.

Their story
Bittermilk is run by MariElena and Joe Raya, a husband-and-wife team in Charleston. MariElena's father owned Robert's of Charleston, and Joe spent years managing restaurants in Palm Beach.
In 2010 the couple turned the Robert's space into The Gin Joint, a cocktail bar, and Bittermilk grew out of the drinks they made there. They sold the bar in 2017 to focus on the mixers, which are now made in a facility in North Charleston. The company has also launched coffee and cocktail syrups and a canned cocktail.
How it's made
Many of the mixers are barrel-aged and sweetened with raw cane sugar, using fresh ingredients such as smoked honey and steeped hops. Ingredients are sourced in the United States. You add the spirit, and the bottle handles the rest of the work.
Our featured pick
No. 6 Oaxacan Old Fashioned (8.5OZ)
$23.00
6 is a celebration of the flavors of Oaxaca, Mexico using dried Mexican chilies, cocoa nibs, and spices.
We can do a lot of things with our machines and equipment that you can't do at home or even behind a small bar.
Why we carry them
We like how Bittermilk takes the fuss out of a great cocktail without cutting corners. The barrel-aged Old Fashioned mix is a smart gift for a host.
