Their story
Bolsignano is a small, family-run estate at Podernovone, in the hills of Montalcino in southern Tuscany. It is the kind of place you visit by appointment, with the family showing you around themselves.
The estate is small even by Montalcino standards, and alongside its Brunello it also makes olive oil. It has been recognized in Falstaff's winery guide.
How it's made
The family farms about 2.5 hectares of Sangiovese, certified organic since 2014. The grapes go into Brunello di Montalcino and other still reds.
Why we carry them
We love finding Brunello from growers this small, where every bottle comes from a handful of family-tended rows. It is a classic Tuscan red to open with a long dinner.
